Defenceinfo Bureau Report

30 children from Kupwara district got a lifetime opportunity to meet the Honorable President of India, Shrimati Pratibha Devi Singh Patil, at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on June, 05, 2012. The students were part of an educational tour organised by the Indian army for students and teachers of the Kandi bowl in Kupwara district of the Kashmir valley. The tour touched Dehradun and Mussorie apart from Delhi over a period of 10 days. Many of the participants had come out of the valley for the first time in their lives. In their interaction with the President, most of the students expressed a desire to graduate from a college at New Delhi. Since the tour had also visited the Indian Military Academy while at Dehra Dun, a large number of the participants were quite motivated to join the Armed Forces.
